Girl Scouts Troop 1932

The Girl Scouts have been a long time partner with Parks and Recreation. They have volunteered at the annual Arbor Day Celebration to help plant trees. For many years the Girl Scouts have donated proceeds from their cookie sale fundraiser to purchase trees planted in the Parks on Arbor Day. In addition, to the annual assistance at Arbor Day, Girl Scout Troop 1932 saw a need for an ADA swing in a City Park.
Troop 1932 worked to gain public feedback on what type of equipment was needed and which Park it should be placed. Troop 1932 raised money through cookie sales and soliciting donations from local businesses. Troop 1932 raised $1,900 and the City of Green River was able to match their donation resulting in a new ADA swing set at the Collier Park Playground.

The Sorensen's along with their family members tore out the overgrown bushes which was a labor-intensive project.
