Motivational Guru Shawn Anderson Shares Vision Behind Extra Mile Day

Los Angeles, CA, October 31, 2014 — On November 1st, over 520 cities across America will proclaim Extra Mile Day…a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change in ourselves, families, organizations and communities when we go the extra mile. Lawton declares “Extra Mile Day” on November 1

LAWTON, Okla._Mayors across the United States are recognizing the growing movement that is dedicated to encouraging individuals and organizations to “go the extra mile” in service and volunteerism. On November 1, 500 mayors are expected to declare “Extra Mile Day.”

Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland has declared Nov. 1 “Extra Mile Day” and is encouraging members of the community to take a little time out for others.

“(Extra Mile Day) encourages each individual, not necessarily in a group, to do something for someone that you don’t usually do. It could be just a thank you to our military or emergency service person, running an errand for someone, visiting a shut-in, taking someone to lunch. Four GR residents nominated as Extra-Mile Change Makers by Mayor Castillion
