HAMDEN >> Residents are invited to place nominations of fellow Hamden citizens that go the “extra mile” in our Town for recognition on “Extra Mile Day”, which is Saturday, Nov. 1. “Extra Mile Day” is a national event (with over 465 participating municipalities) designed to recognize the people who do that extra something to help their community and their neighbors.
Nominees should be people who in their volunteer or professional activities take special actions that help our citizens, neighborhoods and community. Residents are also be encouraged to host a volunteer event that they organize for “Extra Mile Day”, such as a park clean up, clothing drive, book drive, etc. These activities will be highlighted by the Town and the organizers and participants recognized for their efforts…[Read more…]
