On November 1st, 550 mayors from across the United States will declare “Extra Mile Day” and recognize the difference-making heroes in their local communities. In association with Extra Mile America, mayors in large cities and small towns are making the November 1st declaration. From Kodiak, Alaska to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, mayors will acknowledge the impact of local individuals and organizations who are “going the extra mile” in service and volunteerism in order to serve a need in their communities.
