People have the power to create positive change in their communities and their own lives, said the man who started a growing national observance to encourage that power.

“We always have the ability to give more,” said Shawn Anderson, founder of Extra Mile Day. “If we keep doing the same things day after day, the results will be the same. But, if we make that extra effort, the results will change.”
